the instruction manual that came with my guitar says this on the front cover:
"Spectrum
Instruction Manual
Acoustic & Electric Guitar"
I didn’t know that a guitar could be acoustic AND electric, I always thought they were one or the other.
Please explain!

There are such things as ‘amplified’ or electric acoustics which you can plug into an amplifier. Same sound as an acoustic guitar, but you can make it louder without a microphone 
.
However, it looks like this manual is meant for separate Acoustic and Electric guitars – not Acoustic Electric. It’s just a generalized manual.
