Well my grandma bought a guitar thats really basic for like 50 dollars i think from target its kinda acostic? i think.
well she doesnt play it and i want to learn how. i know how to read music because i play marimba and xlophone.
so yeah did you teach yourself how to play is it realy hard?
i think it has to be tuned i dont know. i dont know anything about guitar.
Any tips to get me started?

buy a guitar tuner , electric guitar or acoustic doesnt matter, as long as u dont get a bass guitar tuner , you should be fine .
then when u have that tuner tune the guitar to EADGBE , the first E being the thickest string , and the last E being the thinnest string with that tuner ,
then to play songs get to google the chords/tabs for it , here comes the tricky one , if u dont know how to press the chord , google it as well , and if u see many different variations of it , play the chord that actually sounds closest to the song that you want to try out .
best of luck ive been playing guitar since 2008 self-taught well i hope that has helped you , remember to buy some extra strings in case it bursts or so , ask ur neighbours to tie the guitar strings for u if u dont know how to tie
