Question by The HEARSE DRIVER: Do I “play guitar” or not?
I was recently asked if I play guitar, and my response was that I was “learning guitar”. I don’t think I can honestly say that I “play guitar” for the following reasons:
-I have been taking guitar lessons for 2 years, but I can’t play any song perfectly at correct tempo.
-I “know” about 30 songs, but have never played one all the way through.
-I can play open chords, but am still clumsy when changing chords.
-I can play several types of barre chords, but am sometimes clumsy when changing or may mute a string or two.
-My solos are mechanical, uninspired, clumsy, and my bends are frequently imprecise.

YES you definitely play guitar. Remember this: The guitar is easy to learn but impossible to master. We’re all still learning.
