Does your hand cramp more playing your guitar after weight lifting?

I was wondering, if any of you weight lift and also play guitar. I lift heavy C-curls and also do speed guitar. I have noticed, that my hand isn't responding on the guitar frett as fast as it did, before I started lifting heavy. Has anyone else experienced this. Also, my hand sometimes cramp faster when I play long on the guitar, is this a symptom of lifting heavy weights, and what can I do?

Yep, I have the same issues. I ended up getting padded gloves and it really helped. Golds glove or Dp gloves are great, because they have the wrist wrap, so you are not straining on your fingers only, but on the whole hand. Also, def do alternate days. If you are going to gig, don't do heavy, but light weights, it will still pump you but won't cramp you. The problem is that you are fixing your fingers into a position that is straining, and causeing your hand to lock into that mode. This can be fixed by using padded gloves that can cushin the grip and also put some of the strain into the hand and wrist, by the straps. Good luck.
