I am fourteen years old, and I have graduated high school through Penn Foster. I obtain a high school diploma, basically I have nothing to do all day but the few college courses I take online. I babysit, and pet sit for a few neighbors, and I help my teacher from kindergarten with her class as well [volunteer]. I live in the middle of no where, my closest neighbor is almost a mile away. I play guitar, and I attend a dance class. I like to keep myself busy, but I haven't been busy enough. I do a lot of house work as well. I was wondering, if I still needed a work permit to get a job, and if I still have limited hours? Its a bit confusing. I live in Virginia, I probably should have said that earlier. Thank you :]
I think I should probably add that I do have a great social life, and I am with my friends when I am not doing something else. :]
Brittany I don't know where you got your information but the test scores of people who have been home schooled are higher than the national average and many businesses love to hire home schooled people. However 14 is too young to have a regular job. She could have started working at 15 1/2 but only with a signed permission of her parents and the school the same may happen if she goes to volunteer. There are insurance problems with people of her young age. I am sorry but unless you can do work for friends or neighbors I can not see you having a job as of yet. ~M~
