Have you tried …
Have you tried putting light or extra light strings on your guitar? You’ll lose some of the strength of the bass sounds on your top strings, but you’ll have a much easier time fretting.

Great instructions …
Great instructions – My fingers are very short and sometimes dont apply enough pressure to strings, because of the stretching of fingers on frets, when I play the sound does not sound as good. Any suggestions????

Hi my name is dominic and i suffer with a difficulty known as dypraxia, so i take a litlle more time to learn things involving movement. i have tryed this excercise everyday solid working with a meteronome starting slowly but still having a few problems. i was wondering if you had any extra advice on the uniformity of the fingers. i seem to be struggling with the pinky finger mainly as it always buzzes, i have tryed playing near to the fret as advised, and ive tryed applying less weight on the

Ok, thanks for …
Ok, thanks for reply, ill start looking into getting an acoustic. xD

By Guitar101Ramstein on July 31st, 2009 at 8:12 pm

You should start …
You should start out with an acoustic, it is a it more difficult but will help in the long run as it helps you play properly and will make a transition to an electric easy. You will sooner or later find a lot of set backs if you start out on electric, it’s not a short cut to learning how to play guitar.

By thefatlord222 on July 31st, 2009 at 8:12 pm

Which guitar do you …
Which guitar do you prefer starting out with, an acoustic or electric? In other beginner videos they say electric is alot easier to play than acoustic.

It’s really …
It’s really difficult to teach through videos lke this which is why I stick to the simple things. If you have a link to send me to the video you talked about, that could help clarify the differences. Sorry to take so long to answer your question, hopefully you worked out the most logically way to do things in the meantime.
