I am looking forward to taking a music course in college but i’m undecided in either going for guitar or piano lessons. A family member says the note readings are very similar to one another but guitar is much harder to learn and I will eventually give up like he did because of the struggle. I want to get some advice since both interest me but only want to go for one…
Piano is much easier to learn. You could take piano for college and maybe try your luck with a guitar when you’re on vacation from school. If you know anyone who owns a guitar, you can ask them to either lend it to you or teach you the basic chords.
You could take the guitar for college just to challenge yourself, though. But I don’t know how willing you are to add on the extra challenge since I know college isn’t exactly easy to be in to begin with.
Piano is easy. I’ve always loved the sound one makes, and playing it has always been enjoyable for me.
Guitar isn’t easy but it’s been done before and if you really want this, you will be able to get through the classes. I love some riffs that people can do but in my opinion doesn’t compare to the piano.
