I have a Gibson Maestro electric guitar. I am taking DVD lessons, tuned the strings right, but I need help. Do you have any recommended settings for the guitar and amp. I mean what to turn it up to. (number-wise)
Guitar knobs: Volume, Tune
Amp: Volume, Tune, Drive, Gain
experiment. it deepens on what u like. use ur ears. how did u think great guitarist from the past learn how to play? im sure Jimi Hendrix didn't google "Wild Thing." Play around that's how u get it right. It deepens on what type of music u want to play. High distortion, like rock and metal, uses high distortion, high gain and drive. Tone is how the comes out. Volumes is how loud but it also affects the tone. There is no fix preference, Just play around and find something u like.
