I'm getting an an acoustic guitar this Christmas and I want to "customize" it… I'm a pretty decent artist and I'd like to draw on it with something but I dunno if thats good for the wood and all and I really don't want to damage it … whatever I guess I just wanna hear if someone has experience with this and can give me a few pointers … tell me what I can and cannot do to a brand new acoustic ya know? … thanx for the help
I had a friend paint one of my guitars….Its not going to "hurt" your guitar as in damage, however it might decrease the value if you ever want to sell it (hopefully you won't). Then again it might actually increase the price if someone like your design which is a very good possibility because most people love mine ( and quite a few have tried to buy it from me). So if your an artist I say go for it your guitar will sound the same and it will look how you want it to…i say go for it.
