It seems that how matter how much I try. I’ll never be able to get good. My guitar teacher at my school sucks. He can’t teach at all. He teaches all the boring stuff and only teaches with lame songs. What do I do? And, don’t say: Just keep trying no matter how bad you are. That’s the worst advice yet.
Find and learn how to read tabs or sheet music for the bands or types of music that you’re interested in playing. And begin playing the things you like. Search out youtube for instructional videos as well. Chances are there will be something even for a song that you’re looking for. Don’t blow off your teacher just yet, if he can teach you how to read music, it may be wise to learn some music theory from him, even if it feels lame. It will pay off in the end.
