Guitar Courses Reviewed: Most Aren't Worth A Lick!

How do I play strings at the same time on a guitar but have to one string in between?

I came across a guitar TAB for a song that had this for it.

E————-
B—–3——–
G—–0——-
D—–0——-
A——————-
E—–3——–

I was wondering how I can make so the A string doesn’t sound? I can’t seem to play it right without striking the A string. Any advice?

You "kill" the A string with the finger that is holding down the G on the E string (3rd fret). This is done by letting the finger lightly touch the string without fretting it so no sound emerges when it is strummed.

You’d want to do this to the 1st string as well, as there is no designated note to play there. You can strum through all 6 strings with no worries then.

Either that, or you could play the 6th string with your thumb like Hendrix :)
