Guitar Courses Reviewed: Most Aren't Worth A Lick!

How good does one have to be at playing guitar to be able to impress girls?

I can play guitar (I have played for 4 – 5 years) but I am not so sure of how good I am…

I have played 5 times in concert and my teacher says I am one of his best students, but I don't really believe him because I can't shred or play a song without making any mistakes… And I find it hard to compose catchy songs.

By the way, I play acoustic guitar, and I love playing it.

So, how good should I be to be able to impress someone?

First of all, if you've been playing 4-5 years, and your teacher says you are one of his best students, then you MUST be good. So no worries there.

Secondly, most girls don't like shredding :/
To be honest, it sucks for me, as most of the music I play is metal, like Between the Buried and Me stuff, although I do love to play/sing acoustic songs as well (True, Remembering Sunday etc)
Funny Thing – when girls hear me shredding or playing metal songs, they say "Oh he's pretty good"
Then the guy next to me plays and sings a song on the acoustic, and the girls go crazy :/
So you're definitely good to go man. Pick one or two deep, moving acoustic songs to practice, and keep them as your repertoire for whenever a girl asks you to play something on the guitar.
