Guitar Courses Reviewed: Most Aren't Worth A Lick!

How is this for progress (guitar)?

I started playing the guitar 5 months ago, and was failing my guitar class (42%)… got serious, went to the shop, and bought a Yamaha acoustic (was still the worst player in class)… I can now play 'Stairway to Heaven' (almost with the solo)… Judas Priest's 'Painkiller' riff… a lot of Jimi Hendrix songs (Voodoo Child, All Along The Watchtower, Foxy Lady)… a whole lot of other songs too … I am not posting this to get noticed, I'd rather do that on Youtube xD How is my guitar progress? What do you think? I am self-taught; the guitar-class was about reading notes, and some tests… Anything to help me out more? (online courses, etc.) I just wish I can play like Herman Li, or Buckethead, or Mr. Jimi Hendrix…
Consider that my timing is correct… I never claim to know a song which I can't play perfectly…

It depends on how you sound when you play. If you timing is correct and you play every note clearly, then I would say that you are doing pretty good for being self taught. Also, if you are talking about high school guitar classes, I wouldn't even take that into consideration because I know a ton of people who passed those things who can't play at all.
I would suggest picking up some Guitar Player magazines or going on their website, and also checking out ultimate-guitar.com. They have a lessons section.
