I have always wanted to play a guitar, I’ve learned the basic chords at school but never really got into it. Now that I want to I want to know if I should start with acoustic or electric. I can get either of them but need some tips for a beginner
I’d start with acoustic. It’s good for your basics, and if you learn chords on an acoustic, playing electric will be easier for you.
Best thing you can do is find some friends/family who already play guitar and try to start a jam session with them, and ask them to teach you some basics. Playing with friends is always the best way to learn!
You can also look up instructional videos on YouTube. People like Marty Shwarts and Siggi Martens both have lots of great videos for beginners, whether it be a lesson for how to play a song, or how to learn scales and riffs.
