Im trying to learn electric guitar. Im just wondering what scales and stuff I should learn first. I need somewhere to start. Are there any online websites that can help me? If so, which ones?
learn music theory. it will give you a deeper perspective of what makes great music great. learn your modes- ionion (major scale) , dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian, aolian (minor scale), and locrian. you should understand how the major scale is made in terms of whole and half steps (WWHWWWH) and which chords in the scale will be major and minor. learn your basic open chords, like Cmajor, Gmajor, Dmajor, Amajor, a minor, d minor, and e minor. also, learn barre chords. they will enable you to play in any key the whole way up the neck.
