I wanna learn how to play the guitar
i know nothing about guitars :(
what guitar should i buy to start learning with?
plz any tips? websites?
thank you so much :)

I learned to play guitar almost 53 years ago. A player had drawn down 11 basic chords on a sheet of paper and then helped me to properly form them. He also gave tips on rhythm patterns. But that was the extent of any lessons I received.

What helped me the most is learning how to read and write music, making countless file copies of all the chords I could find through guitar-teaching books, and composing. But above all that, I learned greatly by playing with other musicians, and not just other guitarists. I lived for the guitar because it became my strongest passion in life.

My tips:
1. Get an instructor if possible.
2. Get a copy of Hal Leonard’s Beginning Guitar Method Book One.
3. Get a book of chords that has at least 2,500 of them with their accompanying music notation.
4. Learn how to read music for the guitar.
5. Create an extensive learning music file for ready reference.
6. Play with other musicians as often as possible. Include, besides the guitar, those that play piano, saxophone, trumpet, organ, banjo, mandolin, bass, or in other words, all forms of musical instruments.
7. Work beyond the sore fingertips and ignore the pain. That process is necessary to determine if you have the gumption and motivation to play guitar.
8. Start on an acoustic guitar with medium-gauge strings. This will challenge you to either play better or simply give it up. Such beginning acoustics are Alvarez, Ibanez, Ephiphone, Takamine, Yamaha, and Washburn. Before you buy, test each one for comfortable fit, ease on the fingerboard, and projection of tone. Another guitar player can best help you with this.

Good luck.
