what do you suggest i plan on spending about 200 dollars.
Is the electric guitar hard to learn and stuff?
I would highly recommend that you start with acoustic. It's not as flashy, but it will force you to focus on the most important aspects of the instrument. Electric guitar is fantastic, but it comes with a great deal of distractions: amplification, effects, tremelo bar, etc.
You can get a pretty good acoustic guitar for $200 (US), certainly good enough to meet the needs of a beginner. Try Mitchell or Yamaha. I have recently heard pretty good things about Mitchell. Here is a link to get you started:
