I need to buy one and i have no idea where to start ANY advice would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance
First of all, if you’re looking to buy a guitar that will last, and has great quality, go for a Yamaha. What you look for when you’re buying a guitar is comfortability. Try one out in the store, see if u can reach the strings well and, check if the action (the height of the strings from the fret) is comfortable for you to press down. Keep in mind you will eventually develop callus that will make playing also alot easier than when you first start. Maybe even try a little ditty and see if you can see yourself in the future playing this guitar. I know it may sound ridiculous, but there should be a connection between you and the guitar. You’ll know what I mean when you play/see it
.
I recommend a Yamaha Solid Top (they are called solid top because they are made of one piece of wood instead of may like other guitars. this helps with sound quality and durration) because their sound is exceptional and they are made to last a lifetim…if kept in good condition. The only thing is that in the winter because the air is stiffer, the wood of the guitar need to be a bit more moist to keep from cracking (cracking a guitar is your mortal enimie) so what you need is a humidifier. Its a little plastic container that holds a sponge that you must wet every so often. It slips in between the strings of your guitar so the bottom of it is somewhat inside the hole in the guitar. If you ask someone in the store about it Im sure they will know what it is and show you. Thats just my opinion but feel free to try out all possible brands, do some research and talk to the people in the guitar shop.
Also a bonus with buying a Yamaha is if anything goes wrong with your guitar, and you contact them, they will repair it for you or if beyond repair ship you a new one FREE (I think this is within the warrentee though)
Hope you find what youre looking for
