I’m 16 and i feel that my life is getting shorter, so before i die i want to play the guitar, i want to buy a fender stratocaster, i was wondering if you guys recomend any other guitars instead, and if there is any good dvd lesson series which should make a pro. i dont want a private tutor, they cost to much, and around my area my friends say that the tutors are basterds, they’re not into the teachings…. Anyways please help me out! Oh and do you guys recomend a good amp! Medium size perhaps?
I do not recommend that a beginner get a Strat equiped with a floating bridge vibrato tailpiece as these are rather tricky to tune. Also if you are starting out go simple with the guitar you buy. Fender’s Squire series provides good value for the dollar, as does Gibson’s Epiphone brand.
Marshall and Fender have excellent combo amps but don’t overlook Ampeg.
