Guitar Courses Reviewed: Most Aren't Worth A Lick!

I would really like to learn blues slide guitar, need help finding best tutorial books/dvds etc…?

I guess i am an intermediate, self taught guitarist who generally plays chord based songs with a bit of finger picking.

Just lately I have been loving Seasick Steve and listening to lots of stuff from Mississippi John Hurt and Blind Willie Johnson so I would like to know if anybody can offer me any advice on good blues dvd lessons series’ or some good books on where to start me off on my road to playing proper blues guitar.

As a slide player and a cigar box guitar player, may I recommend (as a starter)…

The best book that I’ve come across is a book by Arlen Roth and is called ‘Traditional, country and electric Slide Guitar’. It was or is published by Oak publications and the order number is (or was) OK62836 and the UK ISBN is 071190233X.

I’ve not used DVDs at all, as I began to play when videos were in their infancy.
