I've had a look at some of them, and they're alright, but a lot of them use shortcuts to keep students satisfied leaving them with a poor grounding in the basics and effectively produce a mediocre musician.
A teacher will be able to spot and correct your mistakes and teach you proper technique and theory. At least, a good one should…
I would suggest getting a teacher if you can afford it, because it's a much better idea.
