I love electric guitar and i want to start learning it but the problem is that ppl around me say that you should know how to play the acoustic guitar before you do that otherwise you won't succeed.are they right ? should i start with acoustic ? (considering the fact that i hate it)
You should play what you love to play. Why play something you hate? That is a waste of time.
Acoustic guitar and electric guitar are very different animals. Both have very specific techniques and approaches.
Moreover, it is much easier to play an electric guitar simply because is usually has much lighter strings and the action (which is the distance between the strings and the frets) is usually much closer. Your fingers with play faster and won't get torn up as much.
Get an electric guitar, play loud, be happy, and tell your friends to get bent and shut up because they do not know what they are talking about.
