I saw a combo pack from Guitar Center for the Epiphone PR-4E Acoustic-Electric Guitar. It comes with a guitar, amp, gig bag, pitch pipe, guitar lesson dvd, strap, picks, and a cable. I realize I’ll have to get a tuner because a pitch pipe is harder to use, but for $220 it sounds like a good deal to me. Am I right? Any feedback will be helpful. I also added a link below to the Guitar Center website with the package description. Thanks!

I'm with you on the pitch pipe. Some other websites were selling the same thing except with a tuner, but you had to order them online and wait for them in the mail (not to mention shipping would be expensive).
The rule of thumb whenever it comes to buying a guitar is always play the guitar first. If you can try to go to the store and try it out and make sure you like the sound and feel of the guitar. If it’s the first guitar your getting and you don’t know much about it, well then get what you can afford. If you have a friend that plays guitar, have them try it out to be sure there are no flaws. Any way Epiphone is a good brand name and they usually build their guitars consistently the same. The price isn’t so bad because it is Epiphone. I don’t know why the hell they would include a pitch pipe, that’s as useful as giving you a tuning fork.
