playing the guitar?

I really want to learn how to play the guitar. My question is what kind of guitar should i buy and are those DVD guitar lessons any good or should i shell out for private lessons? thanks in advance

guitar is one of the easiest instruments to learn. I myself didnt even need dvds or formal guitar education to learn it… dvds might be ok, but i think that real personal teachers would be beter because they could specifically help you in areas youre having trouble with… if you lack resources, magazines could help with chord charts and songs and stuff…

as for the guitar choice, it basically depends on the size of your wingspan… if it's short buy a shorter one… ALWAYS BUY SOMETHING THAT YOURE COMFORTABLE WITH… it would be better to have guitars with thick necks and high suspension on the strings… this will help you become a better player… but in any case, any acoustic guitar will do…ü

..just a peice of advice, don't buy an expensive one if you're just beginning, i've seen a lot of beginners that don't take care of their guitars…üÜü
