Hi. I was wondering if I should play the guitar left handed. I’m right handed but I’m missing the tip on my pointer finger. Is this a good idea? Thanks
if you can learn right handed, you’ll have no problem finding gear. left handed guitars can be hard to find and sometime cost more because of the lesser demand. i’d say try it right handed first.
regardless, there are great guitarists who’ve overcome similar problems. tony iommi (black sabbath) is a lefty and is missing two finger tips on his fretting hand. django reinhardt, incredible jazz guitarist (right handed) was missing two complete fingers on his fretting hand. He was one of Jimmy Page’s inspirations. And Jerry Garcia (grateful dead, right handed) was missing half of two fingers on his picking hand.
