Quite a few years ago my brother got a little pignose guitar because he wanted to learn how to play, ha he was 7 and did nothing. It came with a bunch of learn how to play guitar books/dvd’s. A while ago I thought I might try it out but I never got to it. Now just listening to my favourite bands, I think wow I’d love to be able just to play that song myself.
I’ve heard some celeb’s/musicians say, I’ve never taken a guitar lesson in my life, when I was 7 I got a learn to play guitar book, and I taught myself.
I know I will not get to that level obviously, but just to play around with it and play by myself.
I’m not that into sports, so I figured maybe I’d try this out, and then if I liked it, maybe I’d get lessons.
I’ve had music class at school for the past 3 years, so I know how to read music. I played flute, nothing similar to guitar.
Whadya think? Should I go for it?
While flute isn’t similar, it’s still going to help you in terms of developing your ear and of course with reading music. You probably already have a good sense of pitch/key. Definitely go for it.
