I own a Fender Hotrod Delux & a Rivera Amp. Yes I’m lucky man but the down side is that I haven’t a clue of how to use them. I’m taking Country guitar lessons but my instructor states he doesnt know how to set the control knobs for this style of music. Now I can hear everyone now saying, “Consult the owner’s manual.” Well I did just that but unfortunately I speak English not Greek and its definately all greek to me. The other item on my agenda is to find out just what model Rivera I have. Again I can hear you all saying once again, “Consult your owner’s manual.” Funny, I did that but it covers a few differant Rivera models. Yes I probably do need “Amp guide for Dummies but honestly would some one out there please throw me a life line with a package of HELP? My email, needed, is liveon011943@yahoo.com.

If either of them have effects and one happens to be delay, you can use some of that to get slapback.

However, focusing on the guitar, you should use the bridge pickup and turn the tone knob all the way down.

By the way, you have tube amps–they’re already perfect for country! Because of that, I have a feeling that the tones you want might be created using pedals. Some pedals that country guitarists often use:

Compressor Pedals (I’d recommend the Keepey Compressor, but Boss offers a cheap one that’s worth checking out)
Digital Delay Pedal (Boss offers a decently-priced one and I don’t know of any other specific brands to check out for delay…slapback is what’s most used with a digital delay pedal for country guitar)
