Too old to learn electric guitar?

I’m 24 and I’ve always wanted to learn, but never got around to it. I really enjoy music and mostly just want to play for myself and not be in a band or anything.

Can anyone suggest a good guitar. Also I’d kind of like to teach myself… is there a good way to go about this? Any books?

Thanks so much!

your never too old to learn how to play guitar.
my guitar teacher said he has a guy that is 49 that comes in for lessons. he has always wanted to learn how to play and now he does :)
uhmm about teaching urself.. u can do taht but id recommend at least for the basics taht you find a guitar teacher, u can get 1 for like 15-20$ for 30 min lessons once a week. it will help you tremendously when you first start out. then if you want to work on your own u can, or keep taking lessons.
if u want a good electric guitar.. id recommend:
for rock/metal songs: Ibanez RG120 or Ibanez GSA60
for blues/country/rock:fender squier
good luck!
