Although pricey, the Learn and Master series of courses are always high quality, and Learn and Master Guitar is no exception. This is a DVD course and is taught by Steve Krenz who is on of the best teachers around. The lessons are very thorough and fun. Beginners will love it because it starts off leading you step by step through the fundamentals like reading music to playing chords and scales. Yet, it also includes lots of materials for intermediate and advanced guitar learners as well. This course covers everything you need to become an excellent guitar player.

Jamorama – If you are on a budget, you might want to check out Jamorama. It’s more aimed at beginning learners, but the content of the course is quite good as well. Jamorama is taught by Ben Edwards, who is a former band member and knows his stuff. The Jamorama course includes 2 ebooks, and 148 video lessons which is enough material to last you for a year. I really liked the included Jam Tracks which were really fun to play.
Guitar Tricks – This is actually more of an online course, unlike the previous two. Guitar Tricks has been teaching guitar players for a very long time with their video guitar lessons. They have an online catalog of over 3000 video lessons taught by more than 45 different instructors. All the videos are in HD and you can search the site for any type of lesson you want. If you aren’t looking for a more structured course then you might want to check out Guitar Tricks.
All three of these courses are quite good in their own way. Which one you choose really depends on how serious you are about learning to play and what your budget is.
