Hi, I have an old Elk Echo Stage Man amplifier which i plug my electric guitar into and there 6 knobs on it. There’s Reverb, Volume, Bass, Treble, Speed and Intensity. So my question is what do these things do and what should I set them at for different kinds of music (ex. Heavy metal, blues, punk). I have already tried to locate a website to find a manual of some sorts but with no luck.
Thanks
well reverb adds a kind of echo to your sound. Not like a delay, just a sort of depth to it.
Your volume is just how loud the amp is.
Treble controls your high ends. Like, how bright do you want your high notes to sound? Like screeching high? or more bassy so you don’t hear them as much?
Bass just controls your low ends. So the low notes on the guitar will have more umph to ‘em. Of course that’s not always a good thing, because sometimes with too much bass if your playing with a bass guitar player your guitar can get lost in the sound of the bass guitar.
and now speed and intensity control the vibrato that the amp can do. what the vibrato does is bascially raise and lower the volume, kind of giving an echo effect. what speed does is adjust the intervals between the high and low volumes, and intensity adjusts how strong the vibrato will be. Like, small volume changes, or large volume changes.
i don’t know if these are the best explinations but i hope this helps.
