i want to buy an electric guitar to learn mainly rock/lead guitar on.
i have never touched one let alone played one.
i like such bands as foo fighters , ac/dc, g n r, etc
Most beginners buy a basic pack that comes with everything (guitar, amp, headphones, picks, strap, cords, etc). This is good primarily for starters that aren't sure if they are gonna stick with it or like guitar. It's somewhat cheap and comes with all the stuff needed so you don't need to go out and buy something you don't know anything about. Examples of basic starter packs:
Fender Squire Pack – Almost every beginner i have met has one of these and its decent but kinda cliche if you know what I mean, too many people have these, really common
Ibanez Pack – In my opinion, better than the Squire and less common. Better sound and more durable. About same price.
Epiphone starter – Better than Ibanez. Better sound and tone. Might be a little more expensive the previosu two.
If you don't want starter packs, some good brands for beginners are…
Fender, Epiphone, Ibanez, Dean, ESP, Schecter. However, out of these choices, but top choices would be Fender and Epiphone.
If you still aren't sure, go to a guitarcenter or whatever local music store and try out all the guitars you are considering because the best guitar is the guitar most comfortable and easiest to play for you.
Also, since you mention you like playing ac/dc and GNR, then probably Epiphone is the guitar for you. It's a hard rock/classic rock kinda guitar. Angus Young and Slash both used Gibsons, which is the same company as epiphone, just ffor more advanced players instead.
