Of course, the longest guitar solo ever could have been done by some unknown person just trying to break a record. I am wonder what the longest solo is by a guitarist in a well known, major band.
I once heard the guy from AC/DC play a solo that lasted for a long, long time. I think it was over 15 minutes!

Deep Purple’s “Made in Japan” “Space Truckin” Ritchie Blackmore has a solo nearly 20 Minutes long.
