Guitar Courses Reviewed: Most Aren't Worth A Lick!

What lessons are included when taking electric guitar course?

I'm a self -taught accoustic & electric guitar player. Now my goal is to really improve my skills in picking & fingersyle in playing electric guitar. Meaning, I want to be really serious in playing, so in the future I can perform for a band.
But I need to know what sort of guitar course is good such that by taking the classes, I can continue to improve my known skills instead of starting from the beginning again like all the strummings etc.
Will it include learning about the scales?

Thanks a lot.

I would recommend lessons but not just to learn how to pick or fingerstyle but for the many other things that are involved.

No a good teacher wont make you go back to the beginning , he should work with you to figure out what you know and don't know and will taylor your lessons to fit you.

Lessons should include all things music, From music theory to technique. He will watch you play and look for bad habits that you may not notice and help you to correct them.

Yes it should include learning about scales. That is part of the boring stuff called music theory. It will include how scales relate to chords and how to build chords from scales. How to know a minor chord from a major, etc, etc, etc, etc and allot more. this is all music theory
