I have been playing guitar just under 3 months and was wondering what should i be able to play/ do on guitar. Ive had 4 lessons,
idk really, ive been playing for 3 years now (not much i know) but when i was at 3 months i could play a good 100 songs (songs i wanted to be able to play, not asked to and not perfect…but good enough for me at the time haha)
everyone goes at different speeds whether mine was slow or fast
as long as you like doing it, you should be worrying about it
my best advice, get into metal haha check out black dahlia murder, whitechapel, and so on, you may not like them when you listen to them at first but good lord is it fun (and hard) to play, and great practice, youll be able to get every other type of music down very easily
keep playing duders, dont worry about what everyone else was/is doing at 3 months
btw, you never mentioned what type of music you want/do play , thats a huge factor
country esque stuff – stick with the lessons and know the chords
generic rock type stuff – drop the lessons, learn by yourself once you know how a guitar works haha
classic rock – maaybe drop the lessons, practice a lot
metal – quit lessons for sure because hardly anything generic lessons will teach will help out anything, its more of a personal learning thing
whatever else is out there – stick with lessons haa
