When playing electric guitar is it normal to rest your hand on the bridge ?

I recently started playing guitar, and recently started to rest my hand on the bridge as i strum. I find it to help my picking accuracy, i was just wondering if this is normal, or am i developing a bad habit

yes its perfectly normal.
it can help pick accuracy rather than just hanging it in the air and missing most of the time.
